About Taking Sounds

I believe this world has more to offer than visual stimulation. When I arrived in Vietnam in April of 2024, I decided that I want to memorize my trip not just by the pictures I take, but also by the sounds I take.

I started compiling a library of the sounds I hear during my trip. Primarily, I started taking sounds because of an idea to create a podcast out of my other project, niqs.reisen.

The sounds should serve as the background ambiance for my travel podcast. But who knows what will come out ot this eventually.

Recording sounds

I use my iPhone 12 to record all these sounds. Whenever I feel that the moment is worth being recorded, I open up my Voice Memos app and hit that record button.

Usually, I record a 3 minute sample.

In order to get an idea of what the library looks like, I added a screenshot of my Voice Memos app.

I label every recording with the respective country flag, the place where it's being recorded and a description of the activity.
