Philippines
Four weeks on Cebu: Hiking, canyoneering, snorkelling and diving (including Cebu City, Moalboal and Bantayan Island). Three weeks on Luzรณn: Manila being Manila (but has its charming sides too) and mostly spending time in the beautiful Philippine birthplace of surfing with all our great Pinoy friends in Baler, Aurora (shout-out) ๐

Comeback to reality.

Malaysia
Christmas and New Year's Eve in Kuala Lumpur. Lots of amazing food and lots of visits to Chinatown. A trip to Ipoh with its iconic Kopitiams and spectacular rock caves. Finally, Pulau Pangkor, a drowsy little island where mostly Malaysians go on holidays

Sri Lanka
A round-trip around Ceylon. Arrived in Colombo, when cyclone Ditwah hit, but went to the beaches, which were luckily unaffected: Galle/Unawatuna, Tangalle and then went up country: Udawalawa (safari!), Haputale (including a day trip to Ella), Kandy and Negombo

En route to Sri Lanka, we visited Istanbul. Skipped the major sights to spend most of our time in Kadฤฑkรถy. Visited the Bayezid II Mosque and the Sรผleymaniye Mosque on the European side and the รamlฤฑca Mosque on the Asian side
